So I turned in the portrait commission and was paid. The funds were already earmarked for a table and chairs set for the back yard. Thanks for all the nice emails about the art (and other stuff).
This week it's back to the word-mines. I'm rusty and stagnant, so it is expected that I will have to write pages and pages before I'm back into routine again. (This should be a lesson for me, that writing muscles atrophy, too.)
Also I've been working in the garden. Newly planted: 12 small fuchsia bushes (they'll grow to 2 1/2 X 2 1/2 ft.) but right now they're around 6 inches high. And the bright-blooming blue spires of Sage. My Sweet Peas are about one foot high and I've tied them (loosely) to the trellis as the first step to training them up the white structure. Oh, and my Dahlias are starting to bud. On the downside, I've lost 3 Stargazer Lilies to the dogs and the Alabama Power meter-reader guy-----Grrrrrr. I'm babying the 3 lilies I have left, right now at about 4 inches tall. If anyone is interested in my little gardening adventure, maybe I could post pics.

I've decided to make an effort to keep the journal going on a consistent basis. I'll try (again) to update twice weekly. And I'm in the process of photographing some of my artwork to place in the journal ScrapBook: portraits, oddish sketches, etc. including the latest commissions and works in progress. I'll upload the pics sometime today or tomorrow. I get kinda tired of talking about writing all the time here at LiveJournal; it'll be nice to show other facets of creativeness. Also, a British commercial clip that I found (and adore): http://www.visit4info.com/details.cfm?adid=16520 It is already set up for you, (Lynx Range) just press PLAY AD. And, while I'm in Ether-Space: Happy Birthday Greg!!! 4-26-???? Current Mood: laugh-amungus Current Music: Natasha Bedingfield : "Unwritten"

over here at LiveJournal, since I wrote last. Which seems like forever-ago. New functions that I'm not familiar with so I'll have to play a bit.
Cobble is out. The production values of this novel are better than what I've experienced with previous publications. I'll scrounge up the link to Books-A-Million this week and post it. Or, you can go to Shocklines and take a looksie there: www.shocklines.com and type in my name.
As for me, I'm trying to make good those New Year's resolutions: I'm studying my craft every day; producing more (or at least trying); eating healthier, and so on and so on. The resolutions don't change from year to year, only the amount of time I stay on the horse. Here's to hoping I reach those lofty goals I've set for myself. God knows I've contemplated my career and the direction I want to go long enough (the whole summer). But these contemplations are good for me--and they keep me sane, and focused.
Also, I've managed to plant over 200 tulip, crocus, and muscari bulbs. Come March it's gonna look like Holland. 5400 Amsterdam Court...heaven...
On the bedside: Jean Houston: A Mythic Life Margaret Atwood: Cat's Eye
Movie of the week: Crash (I've watched it twice--thanks Jill!)
In the CD player: Coldplay; The Verve; ELO--Greatest Hits; 2 compilations of White Zombie/Rob Zombie Current Music: gentle hum of electrodes

--posting from a friend's pc, but I should finally have internet service late tomorrow or Thursday (I've forgotten what that's like). And speaking of forgetting, this interview with Eric Brown and moi went up a couple of months ago: http://descendingdarkness1.com/Interviews/AuthorInterviewsEricSusanne.html For those who have emailed, I'm fine; I'll get my new addy to you asap. With the old email address being defunct for the past month, important email should be resent to the new e-dress. Current Music: Coldplay
